Quick Start

WindTerm supports the ZModem protocol well. You can upload or download one or more files not larger than 4 gigabytes by executing rz/sz commands, right click menu, or drag and drop files. WindTerm also has several other nice ZModem features:

• Supports automatic triggering of upload and download operations.
• Supports automatic opening of the download directory after received.
• Supports upload operations such as overwrite, overwrite when source file newer, overwrite when source file newer and longer, append, resume, rename and skip when a remote file with the same name exists.
• Supports using the Cancel button, or <ctrl+x><ctrl+x>, or <ctrl+c> key to terminate the transmission at any time.
• Detailed transmission progress and error messages.
• Fast and stable transmission speed.

Tips

• When encountering any unexpected problems, <ctrl+x><ctrl+x> can always ensure to exit the transmission and return to normal.
• Checking “Use this as the default and do not ask again” will no longer prompt to select the download folder, making downloading more convenient. You can delete or modify the download folder in Seession property dialog - X/Y/Z Modem - Download directory at any time.

Quick Start

WindTerm attaches great importance to your SSH security and privacy，When temporarily leaving or not using WindTerm, you can lock the screen at any time.

After the screen is locked, WindTerm can only be unlocked when the correct master password is entered, otherwise the content of any opened sessions will no longer be readable and writable.

In addition, when WindTerm is idle for a period of time, it will automatically lock the screen. The default lock time is 30 minutes.

Default shortcut key: Ctrl+Alt+L.

The master password is also very easy to change when needed. Just click the Lock Screen button in the status bar or use the shortcut Ctrl+Alt+L to open the lock screen interface, then select the Change Master Password button to change the master password.

Even if the configuration files of WindTerm is leaked, your username and password will be well protected by the master password and will not be leaked. Even WindTerm cannot decrypt stored information without master password, so please take good care of your master password.

The use of the master password is very simple. After the first setting, you will only be asked when WindTerm need to read encrypted information such as automatic login, and the input will be valid until WindTerm is closed.

WindTerm attaches great importance to your SSH security and privacy, and through the enhanced protection of the username and password, the security of SSH is further improved. Even if a photo or video is taken while using WindTerm, the username and password will no longer be easily leaked.

• When typing, each password character will be randomly displayed as multiple mask characters. For example, when inputting a, it may be displayed as *** instead of a *, and the caret is hidden to protect the current input position.
• When typing, the username will be displayed as mask characters instead of the characters actually entered.
• When displayed, only the first character of the username is displayed, and the remaining characters are displayed with *.
